HISTORY
In November 2005, Charlotte Le Stum-Meyer, 18 years old, medical student, creates some clothes for her little sister Jeanne, 6 years old, and shows them on her blog (www.blog-vdj.blogspot.com).
Her intention is to complete the wardrobe of Jeanne with some strong, simple and sober clothes, which are difficult to find in kids fashion.
The desire to create clothes for Jeanne comes too to a greate complicity beetwen the two sisters and a common passion for clothes, creation and photography.
The inspirations are :
- some designers like Yohji Yamamoto, Rei Kawakubo (comme des garçons), Martin Margiela ou encore Raf Simons....
- peoples looks seen in the streets or on internet
- work uniforms
- childwoods universe
- jeanne, herself
More than the simple presentation of a collection, the blog shows the discoveries, meetings, ... of charlotte in fashion, art, ...
Quickly, Charlotte receives personals orders and creates her clothes for other childrens.
In June 2006, Charlotte receives a lot of orders and creates her first collection which is on sale in the blog.
The next collection is on sale in the blog and in 2 retailers : "tuss" in Sweden and "Modern Child" in California.
In november 2006, Charlotte creates company "le vestiaire de jeanne" and stops her studies.
In february 2007, Charlotte shows her automn-winter 07/08 collection at Playtime, the kid's fashion tradeshow, in Paris. The show is the real start of "le vestiaire de jeanne". The number of retailers increases, particularly in Japan.
Season after season,le vestiaire de jeanne grows up with more retailers, the development of a website with a shop online, new collections : le vestiaire de clé, the woman collection (www.levestiairedecle.fr), VDJ HOME, home collection (www.vdj-boutique-maison.com), ...
Au fil des saisons, le vestiaire de jeanne continue à se développer en augmentant ses points de vente dans le monde entier, développant sa boutique en ligne et en créant de nouvelles lignes : une ligne femme ( le vestiaire de clé : www.levestiairedecle.com ), puis une ligne de linge de maison (VDJ HOME : www.vdj-maison-boutique.com),...
